A wonderful goal from striker Michael Moore midway through the second half was enough to give Stranraer a deserved win against faltering Forfar.
Forfar keeper Conor Grant kept out an effort from Martin Jack and Darren McGeouch fired over the crossbar.
Forfar striker Ian Harty was twice thwarted by home keeper David Mitchell.
Moore then found time and space on the edge of the penalty box after 68 minutes before drilling the ball into the top left corner.
