Partick Thistle 2-0 Ayr United

Two first-half goals secured a win for Partick Thistle as Ayr United were defeated at Firhill.

Mark Corcoran pounced on a short backpass in the seventh minute to fire in off the crossbar and give the home side the lead.

Ayr goalkeeper Craig Samson saved well from Liam Buchanan before the Thistle forward slotted home from 10 yards eight minutes before the break.

Samson made another impressive save to deny Simon Donnelly in the second half.
