Ayr United 1-0 Raith Rovers

An early strike by Kenneth Connolly was enough to give Ayr United victory over Raith Rovers at Somerset Park.

Connolly pounced on 12 minutes after goalkeeper David McGurn had failed to hold Ryan Stevenson's cross.

The home side almost extended their lead after the break when Kevin James headed against the crossbar and Chris Aitken shot the rebound just wide.

On-loan Dundee United striker Johnny Russell came close to levelling for Raith with a long-range chip.
