Ayr came from behind to win the second leg

Ayr booked their place in the First Division play-off final against Airdrie or Peterhead with victory over Brechin.

Bryan Prunty headed United ahead after 15 minutes from a Chris Aitken corner.

Rory McAllister slid home an equaliser after 38 minutes and added a penalty five minutes after the break after Stephen Grindlay felled Darren Smith.

Kenny Connolly headed home a Martyn Campbell cross in the 70th minute before skipper Chris Aitken sealed the win with a superb 25-yard strike.


Ayr: Grindlay, Dempsie, Walker, Martin Campbell (Henderson 74), McGowan, Kenneth Connolly, Keenan (Woodburn 77), Aitken, Easton, Prunty, Roberts (Gormley 79).
