Airdrie Utd 1-0 Clyde

Airdrie United goalscorer Paul Di Giacomo
Clyde had the best of the first half after Di Giacomo's early Airdrie goal

Paul Di Giacomo's fifth-minute strike gave Airdrie United victory over ten-man Clyde in this Lanarkshire derby.

Diamonds' keeper Stephen Robertson denied winger William McLaren on three occasions in the first half before Pat Clarke saw red for a crude challenge.

Scott Gemmill came on for John Brown's Bully Wee at half-time and he stung Robertson's hands with a low drive.

David Nixon almost extended Airdrie's lead in the second period, but his header went just over the bar.
