Montrose 3-1 Elgin City

Montrose maintained their promotion push with a deserved victory over Division Three's bottom side, Elgin.

But it was City who took the lead when Kenny Wright fired high into the net at the second attempt after six minutes.

Montrose replied just three minutes later when Roddy Hunter scored with a shot on the turn that goalkeeper Ally Ridgers let slip through his hands.

Chris Hegarty scored from the spot after David Niven pouled Stephen Black and Keith Gibson drove home the third.
