Ayr had to settle for a draw despite enjoying the bulk of the play against Stirling at Somerset Park.

Skipper Chris Aitken fired Ayr ahead against his old team, knocking home a cross from Allan Dempsie.

Stirling's John O'Neil equalised against the run of play with a fine shot into the top corner of the net.

Ayr then saw midfielder Ryan Stevenson sent off and keeper Stephen Grindlay twice denied Stirling's Martin Grehan in an exciting finale.
