Former Dundee United and St Johnstone striker Paddy Connolly has left Brechin City's coaching staff to become assistant boss with Albion Rovers.

The 38-year-old will be number two to brother-in-law Paul Martin at Cliftonhill.

Martin was promoted this month after the departure of John McCormack, to whom he had been assistant.

Connolly joined Brechin from Stirling Albion in 2006 and was a player/coach at Glebe Park.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ciaran Donnelly has signed a new one-year contract to remain with Third Division Rovers.
