Airdrie 2-2 Raith Rovers (4-2)

SFL

Airdrie United held on to secure a place in the play-off final for a place in Division One next season after an exciting draw with Raith Rovers.

Brian Prunty fired home from 10 yards after an Allan Russell miss-kick to put Airdrie in control after their 2-0 victory in the first leg.

But, when a Robert Sloan free-kick struck Marco Andreoni' hand, Graham Weir scored from the penalty spot.

Donnelly shot home for United and Weir looped in an equaliser for Rovers.

Defeat means that the Kirkcaldy side remain in Division Two.

Airdrie host Clyde in Wednesday's first leg of the play-off final.

Airdrie manager Kenny Black: "We did exactly what we had to do.

"You tell the players to forget they are 2-0 up from the first leg, but that's difficult.

"We managed to score the first goal, but they dominated most of the second half.

"We are frustrated not getting the top spot and automatic promotion, but the boys have a chance to take Airdrie back to where they belong, the First Division."
