Cowdenbeath boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation with victory in a five-goal thriller at Hampden.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead trhough first-half goals from Scott Gates and Paul McQuade's effort after he collected Dougie Hill's pass.

Queen's pulled one back after 54 minutes when Mark Ferry met Alan Trouten's cross to fire home.

Denis McLaughlin made it 3-1 in the 78th minute, before Spiders' substitute Tony Quinn pulled a goal back.


Queen's Park: Cowie, Paton, Ure, Reilly (Brough 80), Agostini, Trouten, Canning, Cairney, McGrady, Neill (Quinn 73), Ferry. Subs Not Used: Bowers, Harty, Cairns.
