Ten-man Raith Rovers put an end to 15 years without an opening-day win as Marvin Andrews' header gave them victory over Airdrie United.
In addition to his powerful 10th-minute header, Andrews made a goal-line clearance to keep out Stephen McKenna's fierce, 85th-minute 20-yard free-kick.
Raith had near misses themselves, with Steven Hislop hitting the crossbar.
But they had to cling on for victory after Graham Weir was sent off three minutes from time.
