Semi fails to inspire United fans
Barry Robson gets his hand on the Scottish Cup
Barry Robson is battling to be fit for the semi-final
Dundee United winger Barry Robson is not surprised at the disappointing take-up of tickets by the club's fans for Saturday's Scottish Cup semi-final.

Only 5,000 - slightly more than half their requested allocation - have been sold so far for the Hampden showpiece.

Hibernian are expected to take close to 25,000 fans to Glasgow.

But Robson told BBC Sport: "You can't blame the fans. We have let them down in the league this season, but hopefully we can win them back again."

The poor showing could be a hangover from disappointment in the CIS Insurance Cup at the same stage.

That Hampden outing finished in embarrassment, losing 7-1 to Rangers.

"But this is when we need the fans most," pleaded Robson.
