Relegation-threatened Raith Rovers staged a fine comeback to earn a vital draw against Ayr United at Stark's Park.

And Nacho Novo was again their hero with the equaliser.

The visitors struck early on with goals from Paul Sheerin after 11 minutes and James Grady six minutes later to put them well in charge.

Rovers pulled a goal back after 38 minutes through Andy Smith.

But a superb lob 60 seconds later from 18-year-old Stewart Kean restored Ayr's advantage.

Raith continued to battle and, just before the interval, Smith headed home a Marc Millar cross to bring the home side back into the game.

The comeback was completed on the hour when top scorer Novo fired home to level the scores.
