Ayr Utd 1-3 Airdrieonians
Scottish League Division One leaders Airdrie had to come from behind to gain the points with a storming performance against Ayr United at Somerset Park.

For all their first-half possession, Airdrie created few chances and were punished early in the second half when Gary Teale ran 60 yards before firing Ayr in front.

The visitors soon levelled through a fine Stuart Taylor strike from 18 yards.

Their second goal had a touch of fortune about it when Mark Robert's long-range effort took a wicked deflection off John Hughes and flew into the top corner of the net.

Owen Coyle clinched victory in a tense match with a stoppage-time free-kick.

Ayr United: Nelson, Robertson, Hughes, Craig, McEwan, McGinlay, Sheerin, McLaughlin, Lovering, Teale, Crabbe. Subs: Grady, Moss, Sharp, Annand, Dodds.

Airdrie: Ferguson, Armstrong, McManus, James, McPherson, Taylor, Henry, McFarlane, Smith, Coyle, Roberts. Subs: McDonald, Gardner, Docherty, MacDonald, Bennett.

Referee: M McCurry
