Ross County 3-2 Ayr United
Ross County moved off the foot of Division One after Martin Prest sealed a dramatic victory over Ayr United at Victoria Park.

Steven Hislop twice gave the Highlanders the lead, only for Paul Sheerin and James Grady to equalise for the visitors.

But former Airdrie striker Prest grabbed victory 15 minutes from the end.

Influential midfielder Sheerin returned from suspension for Ayr.

Mark McCormick and Richard Hastings were out injured for County.

A crashing drive

Hislop gave County the lead with 19 minutes gone when he slotted home from 15 yards after Alex Bone's shot was blocked by Ayr goalkeeper Craig Nelson.

But the visitors hit back after the break and Sheerin equalised on 55 minutes with a crashing drive from just inside the box.

County restored their lead within three minutes when Hislop was again on target with a near-post header.

But, within 60 seconds, the scores were level as Grady scored Ayr's second.

Substitute Prest grabbed County's third 15 minutes from time to end a pulsating game following a goalmouth scramble.
