Andy Rodgers' brace helped promotion candidates Ayr come from behind to beat Airdrie at Somerset Park, ending their opponents play-off hopes.

The Diamonds went in front seven minutes into the second half, Scott Morton heading home from close range.

Rodgers then found the bottom corner from 30 yards out and then converted a penalty after Kieran Stallard's foul on Ross Robertson.

Michael Moffat made it 3-1 five minutes later with a close-range finish.

Ayr: Martin, Lauchlan, Malone, Smith, Campbell, Robertson, David Crawford, McLaughlin (Donnelly 90), Easton (Trouten 54), Moffat, Rodgers (Roddy Paterson 85). Subs Not Used: David Crawford, Armstrong.
