Ayr condemned Alloa to Second Division football with a comprehensive win at Somerset Park.

The home side had the game wrapped up inside an hour before veteran striker, Willie Irvine netted a consolation for the Wasps.

Ayr dominated the first half but had only one goal to show for it through Pat McGinlay's 41st-minute header.

Full-back Lee Sharp netted Ayr's second on 49 minutes before Eddie Annand tapped home his 19th goal of the season to put them three up.

Irvine struck midway through the second half, but it was too late to mount a comeback and Ayr rounded off the victory when McGinlay grabbed his second of the game late on.
