Ayr United 4-2 Raith Rovers
Ayr closed the gap to one point on leaders Livingstone and Falkirk after a goal feast at Somerset Park.

Ayr raced 2-0 ahead through a 25-yard strike from Hugh Robertson and a header from Glynn Hurst for his 11th of the season.

Raith drew one back before half time through youngster Laurie Ellis' first goal for the club.

But Ayr went back in front after 55 minutes when Robertson and Gary Teale set up Eddie Annand to force the ball home.

Raith kept fighting and Frenchman Ivan Mballa slid the ball home from an acute angle with three minutes left.

But Ayr killed them off in the dying seconds when Steven Boyack crashed home the clincher from close range.
