Pascali's goal gave Jimmy Calderwood his first win as Killie boss
Kilmarnock set up a Scottish Cup fifth-round tie against Inverness with a late win at home over Falkirk.
Falkirk had the better first half with Jack Compton missing from 14 yards and Pedro Pele making Cammy Bell save well.
Killie made the breakthrough with eight minutes left, when Gavin Skelton's shot came off the bar and rebounded off Manuel Pascali into the Falkirk net.
And in the closing stages Bell assured victory with a fantastic save in added time from Vitor Lima's strike.
The Bairns, fresh from a creditable draw at Celtic Park, looked the more dangerous in the early stages.
Within the first few minutes Jackie McNamara went down the wing and fired a shot just over the home goal.
Former West Brom youngster Compton, making his first start since his move from Weston-super-Mare, had a powerful long-range shot saved as Falkirk enjoyed some decent possession.
Falkirk's Scott Arfield then tested Bell from long range, before Kilmarnock skipper Kevin Kyle failed to get enough power on his attempted lob after brushing aside Brian McLean.
The unmarked Compton missed a superb chance to claim his first Falkirk goal, blazing over with only the goalkeeper to beat after Ryan Flynn rolled the ball perfectly into his path,
Bell came to Killie's rescue again before half-time when he tipped Pele's deflected volley from 12 yards over the bar.
And Killie had another let-off when Moutinho fluffed a shot from just six yards out.
The second half started in frantic fashion and Lee Bullen failed to get decent contact on a deep Compton cross, before Kyle headed just wide via a deflection.
The game appeared to be heading for a replay until the hosts benefited from some good fortune in the 82nd minute.
Garry Hay's corner fell for Skelton 12 yards out and he rattled the ball off the crossbar before it bounced off Pascali and over the line.
Bell made sure his side were going through to the fifth round by pulling off a stunning injury-time stop when he palmed over Lima's powerful effort from 18 yards.
