Stenhousemuir 2-0 Clyde

ALBA Challenge Cup

Clyde's newly-formed team started the season by being knocked out of the Alba Challenge Cup at the first hurdle by Second Division rivals Stenhousemuir.

New signing Jay Lang tested goalkeeper Chris McCluskey for the relegated Bully Wee, who shed their whole first-team because of financial problems.

Ex-Clyde man Craig O'Reilly converted a loose ball after a couple of shots had been blocked after 74 minutes.

And Scott Dalziel secured the win on the break in the final minute.


Stenhousemuir: McCluskey, Lyle, Stephen Thomson, Thom, Smith, McLeod, Love (Bradley 70), Scullion, Dalziel, Brand (Motion 70), O'Reilly.
Subs Not Used: Bennett, Molloy, Stirling.

Booked: Stephen Thomson.
