Whyte scored two late goals to secure victory for Forres

An extra-time header and chip by winger Neil Whyte secured Forres Mechanics a place in the Scottish Cup fourth round at Dalbeattie Star's expense.

John MacBeth's terrific 25-yard drive gave the East of Scotland League hosts a 21st-minute lead, after which they spurned a string of chances.

Simon Allan struck for the Highlanders from the spot after 64 minutes.

Ryan Green headed Mechanics ahead in extra-time. Gary Redpath equalised from close-range before Whyte's late double.

The Highland League side will host the winners of Monday evening's Forfar Athletic versus Stranraer tie in the fourth round.
