Queen of the South 0-2 Morton

Brian Wake opened the scoring
Powerful Ton striker Brian Wake opened the scoring

Morton progressed to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup thanks to a spirited second-half performance at Palmerston.

In 48 minutes Ryan McGuffie played the ball wide to the unmarked Brian Wake inside the box. The striker finished with an angled shot beyond Cammy Bell.

For Morton's second, Brian Wake cut the ball inside for Erik Paartalu, who set up McGuffie in space for a shot which flew past goalkeeper Bell once again.

The teams meet next in the league, but Morton's good cup form continues.
