Dunfermline 1-0 Alloa

Dunfermline made hard work of knocking Alloa Athletic out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup in a match that turned nasty towards the end.

Andy Kirk's winner came after eight minutes, his 20-yard drive being the first shot at goal.

A Kirk header struck the crossbar and a Nicky Phinn drive hit the post as the First Division pressed for another.

The last 10 minutes saw a flurry of bookings - and a red card for Second Division Alloa's Steven McKeown.

Dunfermline: Gallacher, Woods, Wilson, Phinn, Shields (Muirhead 46), McCann, Harper (Wiles 67), Glass (Bell 40), Bayne, Kirk, Burke.
Subs Not Used: Reidford, Williamson.
