Dundee 1-2 Partick Thistle

Partick Thistle edged through to the third round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup with a narrow victory over Partick Thistle/Dundee at Firhill.

Ian Maxwell found the net 12 minutes from the end to give Thistle a slender lead, but Dundee's Paul McHale cancelled it out two minutes later.

The match seemed destined for extra-time before Thistle were awarded a penalty three minutes from the end.

Gary Harkins made no mistake and sent the Jags through to the next round.
