Brechin City 0-1 East Fife


East Fife moved into the second round of the Challenge Cup after a tight victory over Brechin at Glebe Park.

The winner came from ex-Brechin player Chris Templeman, who swept the ball home after goalkeeper Craig Nelson parried Kevin Fotheringham's drive.

Eat Fife were in control in the second half, with Bobby Linn and Stevie Crawford guilty of passing up chances.

Brechin's afternoon got worse when midfield debutant Ian Nimmo saw red after a tackle from behind on Linn.

Brechin City: Craig Nelson, Murie (Richard Walker 76), Dyer, Ward, White, Nimmo, Byers, Janczyk, Twigg (Calum Smith 83), King, Darren Smith (Diack 72).
