Pundits on Scottish Cup final

"We just said to them at half-time that they didn't turn up and they needed to make a contribution to this cup final.

"We wanted them to show a bit of belief because we didn't want to go down to Dumfries and think we didn't contribute - and we certainly showed that in the second half.

"We're disappointed with the goals that we lost. We've had possession and we've given possession away and Rangers have got goals off it.

"But in terms of effort and character of the boys I thought they were immense. Before they went out for the second half they were told to play for the next goal, and I would say that's what happened."

"Rangers did deserve to win but they got a big scare along the way.

"I'm pleased for Queen of the South because, just like Gordon Chisholm thought, they didn't really participate in the game before half-time.

"To leave having not given their best performance would have left them all disappointed. But they came out in the second, got two wonderful goals and made a game of it.

"It was very, very close, right down to the final whistle. They were always in with a shout of lifting the trophy.

"But fair play to Rangers, they've had a wonderful season, with two trophies in the bag. It could have been four, but I'm sure they'll come back stronger next season."
