Brechin were ruthless in front of goal as they brushed Elgin aside in the first round of the Challenge Cup.
They opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Martin Johnson robbed goalkeeper Joe Malin and set up Iain Russell for a simple finish.
The visitors went two up on the hour mark through a Russell penalty and Neil Janczyk made it three with a 25-yard effort in the 70th minute.
Johnson's overhead kick made it four before Mark Nicholson's consolation.
