Edinburgh University stunned Highland League club Keith at Peffermill in the Tennent's Scottish Cup first round.
Former Alloa striker Michael Hazeldine opened the scoring for Edinburgh in the eighth minute and was on hand to convert a second on the half-hour mark.
Keith forward Stuart Walker pulled one back in the 58th minute which set up nervous finish for the home team.
Despite late pressure, the University side managed to hold on to book a second round trip to Cowdenbeath.
