A much-changed Inverness Caledonian Thistle progressed to the third round of the CIS Insurance Cup courtesy of a deserved win over Dumbarton.
Dennis Wyness turned the ball into the goal after Sons goalkeeper Stephen Grindlay fumbled an Alan Morgan cross.
Sons' pressure produced an equaliser when Stephen Dobbie curled the ball into the net.
But Graham Bayne turned in a Barry Wilson free-kick and Rory McAllister chipped in a vital third goal.
Inverness head coach Charlie Christie made seven alterations to the team that drew with Celtic on Sunday.
But they opened the scoring in the sixth minute when, under pressure from Ross Tokely, Grindlay fumbled Morgan's corner and Wyness turned the ball into the net from six yards.
The goal was the first the former Hearts striker had scored since 18 February and broke a barren run of 13 matches.
However, Dumbarton recovered from that setback and went on to create a series of good chances, culminating in an equaliser.
Dobbie shot just wide following a Ryan Borris cross and David Bagan forced Mark Brown into a fine save with a powerful drive from 25 yards.
Then, following a fine reverse pass from Bagan, Dobbie placed an effort from the left-hand side of the penalty area past a helpless Brown to draw the Sons level in the 30th minute.
Inverness tried to respond with a Wyness scissor-kick, which was blocked by Andy Geggan.
They did retake the lead seven minutes after the restart when Bayne turned in a pinpoint free kick from deep by Wilson.
The scoring was completed by substitute McAllister with 18 minutes remaining.
After Liam Keogh intercepted a Grindlay clearance, the 19-year-old latched on to the loose ball and chipped the visitors' goalkeeper with aplomb.
