Brechin City 2-1 Morton
CIS Insurance Cup
Stuart Callaghan grabbed the winner from the penalty spot as Brechin City moved into the CIS Insurance Cup second round at the expense of Morton.

Morton took an early lead when a Jamie Stevenson free-kick was headed home by fellow summer signing Paul McGowen.

Callaghan had already chipped against the post before his long ball released Chris Geddes, who drove the ball home for the equaliser after the break.

And Callaghan scored from the spot after Dean Keenan handled in the box.

Victory was some consolation for Brechin, who had announced before kick-off that captain Steven Ferguson had been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a broken leg suffered against Peterhead on Saturday.
