Gary Lineker presents highlights and goals from the weekend's Premier League action in Saturday's Match of the Day (2230 GMT and Sunday, 0730 on BBC One/online). Manchester City host Chelsea, hoping their expensively-assembled team can end the Blues' run of eight consecutive wins against them. Champions Manchester United visit West Ham - Sir Alex Ferguson's men did the double over the Hammers last season but have come a cropper three times in the last six meetings with the east London side. Liverpool are at Blackburn, against whom they scored seven times in the league last season. Aston Villa face a visit from Hull while Birmingham travel to Wigan and Arsenal welcome Stoke to the Emirates Stadium. Portsmouth and Burnley meet in their first top-flight match for 50 years while Wolves play Bolton at Molineux. On Sunday, Adrian Chiles introduces highlights of the day's games, plus a review of Saturday's action, in Match of the Day 2 (2200 GMT, BBC Two/online). Everton and Tottenham meet at Goodison Park in a battle between two clubs hoping to break the 'Big Four' monopoly. Just one goal was scored in the two meetings between the sides last season and even that was an own goal but Spurs put two past the Toffees when the teams met in the Carling Cup earlier this season. The day's other game takes place at Craven Cottage between Sunderland and Fulham, two teams who have made promising starts to the season. One man who will be looking forward to the fixture is Black Cats striker Kenwyne Jones, who has scored in each of his last three games against Fulham.
MOTD: 12 & 13 DECEMBER
Watch Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2 for highlights of all the weekend's Premier League action.
Gary Lineker presents highlights and goals from the weekend's Premier League action in Saturday's Match of the Day (2225 GMT and Sunday, 0730 on BBC One/online). Manchester United host Aston Villa in what has traditionally been one of the biggest mis-matches in the Premier League. Villa go into the fixture without a league win over United since the opening day of the 1995/96 season. They were ten minutes away from ending that barren run at Old Trafford in April but eventually succumbed to a stoppage-time winner from unheralded teenager Federico Macheda. Chelsea also defend a long-standing unbeaten record when they take on Everton at Stamford Bridge. Carlo Ancelotti's title challengers go into the match unbeaten in 23 league and cup games against Everton over the last nine years, including a 2-1 win in last season's FA Cup final. At the other end of the table, Birmingham mret West Ham at St Andrew's, while Blackburn make the trip to Hull. On Sunday, Adrian Chiles introduces highlights of the day's games, plus a review of Saturday's action, in Match of the Day 2 (2255 GMT, BBC One/online). There's a massive game at Anfield where Liverpool host Arsenal. Both sides have had their problems this season and will be desperate for the three points as they look to get their title bids back on track.
MOTD: 16 DECEMBER
Gary Lineker presents highlights and goals from the midweek Premier League action in a special Wednesday edition of Match of the Day (2245 GMT on BBC One/online). Highlights of the evening's four Premier League matches, as well as all the goals from last night's four games. Wednesday's action pits title hopefuls Chelsea against struggling Portsmouth, while Liverpool host Wigan, and Arsenal make the trip to Burnley. Arguably the most enticing fixture of the night, though, is at White Hart Lane, where Tottenham meet Manchester City. Both clubs have ambitions of muscling into the top four and qualifying for the Champions League, and with an array of attacking talent on show it promises to be an exciting game. The programme will also include highlights of Tuesday's action including Man Utd v Wolverhampton and Aston Villa's trip to Sunderland.
