Gary Lineker presents highlights and goals from the weekend's Premier League action in Saturday's Match of the Day (2220 GMT and Sunday, 0735 on BBC One/online). Champions Manchester United make the long trip south to face Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Pompey were FA Cup winners just 18 months ago but financial problems have seen that side dismantled, with key players like Jermain Defoe, Glen Johnson and Lassana Diarra sold to balance the books. A host of replacements arrived on the cheap but the new faces have taken time to settle, with Paul Hart's side making a slow start to the season. The Red Devils have not been at their best either so far, with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo depriving them of their main goal threat. But Sir Alex Ferguson's men are past masters of grinding out results, and few would bet against them taking their title challenge to the wire. Manchester City's expensively-assembled side are favourites against Hull, while Aston Villa host Tottenham, with both sides keen to press their claims for a top-four finish. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce returns to Wigan, the club he left in the summer. West Ham will be hoping to pick up a win against Burnley, who have struggled away from Turf Moor. And elsewhere, Blackburn host Stoke and Fulham meet Bolton. On Sunday, Adrian Chiles introduces highlights of the day's games, plus a review of Saturday's action, in Match of the Day 2 (2230 GMT, BBC Two/online). Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates in what promises to be one of the matches of the season. The Gunners have produced some scintillating football so far but will have to raise their game against a Chelsea side reinvigorated by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti. The Blues won last season's corresponding fixture 4-1 and also edged the Gunners in the FA Cup semi-finals, so Arsene Wenger's side will be determined to exact revenge on their London rivals. There is another derby match on Merseyside, with Liverpool making the short trip across Stanley Park to face Everton at Goodison Park. The Reds have been inconsistent this season, with niggling injuries to key duo Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard hampering their progress. Everton beat their nearest rivals on the way to last season's FA Cup final and will be hoping to produce a repeat performance today. The day's other game sees Wolverhampton Wanderers meet Birmingham City. Blues have not won a top-flight game at Molineux for 31 years. Both sides were promoted from the Championship last season and are prioritising Premier League survival this campaign.
