Swansea City's Daniel Alfei hit home Wales U21's opener at Wrexham

Goals from Daniel Alfei and Robert Ogleby gave Wales Under 21 victory over their Northern Ireland counterparts at Wrexham's Racecourse on Wednesday.

The friendly win gave Brian Flynn's side a sixth successive home win.

Sean Clucas' 42nd-minute foul on Jonathan Williams gave Alfei the chance to strike from the penalty spot.

Ogleby came on as a 75th-minute substitute and first act was to head home skipper Ashley Richards' free-kick to seal a comfortable win.

The win brings some cheer to Welsh fans following the senior team's 3-0 defeat by the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday.


Wales U21:

Rhys Taylor, Richards, Dummett (Bender, 55), Lucas, Alfei, Brown, Jake Taylor (Matthews 81), Jones (Partington 45), Doble, Chamberlain (Ogleby 74), Williams (Bodin 55).
Subs Not Used: Maxwell, Cassidy.
