Rhyl were expecting to receive an advance from the FAW on the £300,000 prize money they are eventually due from European body Uefa.
"After attending a meeting with the directors of the FAW, Rhyl FC were informed that now and in the future the FAW will only advance clubs enough money to cover the costs of travelling abroad to fulfil their away fixture in Uefa competitions.
"Rhyl FC is obviously disappointed with this decision.
"The implication of this is that the vast majority of the Uefa prize money will not be received until probably December this year.
"Whilst this is an inconvenience, Rhyl FC is reformulating its budget to accommodate the timing difference now caused by the FAW's decision."
Rhyl go into next season with a new man at the helm, having parted company with manager Allan Bickerstaff at the end of July.
Greg Strong has stepped up from the playing staff at Belle Vue to take over as player-manager.
