TNS are 'stronger than Wrexham'

Mike Harris
Mike Harris feels his club could compete in League Two in England.

The New Saints of Oswestry are a better side than Wrexham and could hold their own in the Football League, according to managing director Mike Harris.

"I believe we've bridged the gap between ourselves and Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham, and we've possibly passed Wrexham," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"The Welsh Premier Cup has shown we can beat all the top clubs, and we can compete regularly with all of them."

TNS have won the League of Wales four times and were runners-up last year.

Team manager Andy Cale added: "I'd say we're somewhere around the top of the Conference and the lower half of League Two."
