TNS managing director Mike Harris is endorsing the club's name change
The New Saints have added "of Oswestry" to their title, to give more emphasis to their history and where they play.
"Fans told us we should have a greater inclusion of 'Oswestry'," club owner Mike Harris told BBC Radio Shropshire.
TNS was formed by a merger of the former Llansantffraid and Oswestry Town clubs - "and both are important in the partnership," Harris said.
"We also want to attract back some of the old Oswestry Town supporters and show them this is still their club."
The New Saints of Oswestry will kick off under their new name at home to Prestatyn in the Welsh Premier League on Friday 29 August, when they will also unveil their new kit in the blue colours of the old Oswestry Town.
