Bangor secretary is fined £500

Welsh Cup

The Football Association of Wales has handed out heavy fines to a leading Bangor City FC official and the club.

Secretary Alun Griffiths was fined £500 for his behaviour and the club £10,000 after a pitch invasion during their 4-2 Welsh Cup final victory over Llanelli.

Griffiths was found guilty of improper conduct and using offensive or insulting language at the May 4 match. Half his fine is suspended for a year.

Half the club's £10,000 rap is also suspended until the end of next season.

606: DEBATE
The ugly scenes erupted after Chris Seargeant's goal in the second minute of added time forced the tie into extra-time.

Bangor fans invaded the pitch and Llanelli keeper Duncan Roberts was pushed to the ground.
