Ryan Giggs has targeted yet more glory after helping Manchester United win the Carling Cup, his 21st major trophy.

"It's a cup final, obviously we wanted to win it and kick on from there," he said after scoring the first penalty of the shoot-out win over Tottenham.

"That's what we did with the World Club Championship so hopefully we can show the same form after winning this."

Monday marks the 18th anniversary of the 35-year-old former Wales captain's senior debut for the Red Devils.

A 91st-minute replacement in the Wembley clash win over Spurs, Giggs is a key member of the United squad that could win five titles this year.

"There's a long way to go in all trophies remaining, we've just got to keep the same desire and play as well as we have done," he said.

"The manager's desire filters down to players and I think you can see that with the players we've got.

"[Eighteen years at the club is] a long time but I don't look to the past really, just to the rest of season and I try to enjoy the rest of the games remaining.

"I'm enjoying my football and playing in a great team with great players."
