Carling Cup first-round draw news

League Cup

Recently-relegated Reading will travel to League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Elsewhere, Football League new boys Exeter will host Championship side Southampton, while fellow League Two newcomers Aldershot travel to Coventry.

Derby County, who were also relegated from the Premier League along with Reading and Birmingham, host Lincoln.

Birmingham travel to Wycombe, while Sheffield Wednesday host Rotherham in a repeat of last season's local derby.

Bradford travel to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield, while across the Pennines Bury face Lancashire neighbours Burnley at Gigg Lane.

Morecambe, who dumped Preston and Wolves out of the competition last season - travel to newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Ties are due to be played in the week commencing 11 August.
