Blackpool 2-1 Southend (aet)

Michael Jackson came off the bench to grab an extra-time winner for Blackpool and send them into the fourth round of the Carling Cup at Southend's expense.

Matt Harrold gave Southend a surprise lead when he fired in a penalty after Charlie MacDonald was brought down by goalkeeper Rhys Evans.

Scott Vernon equalised for Blackpool when he converted the loose ball from Wes Hoolahan's shot.

Jackson settled the tie when he poked in from Andy Welsh's corner.
