Birmingham City 2-1 Hereford Utd

Garry O'Connor and Gary McSheffrey got the goals as Birmingham City knocked League Two Hereford United out of the Carling Cup.

O'Connor's superb volley broke the deadlock and Bulls keeper Wayne Brown could not keep out McSheffrey's shot.

But Hereford came back strongly, replying through Theo Robinson's fierce shot before forcing keeper Richard Kingson into a string of fine saves.
