Craig Bellamy scored twice - his first goals for Blackburn - as they cruised past Huddersfield in the Carling Cup.
Bellamy was Blackburn's two-goal hero
Bellamy put Blackburn in front after 11 minutes, taking a pass from Brett Emerton before beating Paul Rachubka.
Zurab Khizanishvili doubled the lead on the hour, the on-loan defender heading home David Bentley's corner.
Pawel Abbott gave the visitors' hope with 11 minutes left, but Bellamy produced a clinical finish late on to kill off Huddersfield's revival hopes.
Second in League One, Huddersfield started the game full of confidence and stroked the ball around against a Blackburn team showing four changes from the side which lost 3-0 to Newcastle on Sunday.
But once Bellamy ended Rovers' 391-minute wait for a goal, Peter Jackson's side were struggling to stay in contention. There were signs of frustration from Rovers, who were caught offside on eight occasions before the interval.
Bellamy was booked for dissent after one flag before Paul Dickov was also shown a card after he put the ball in the net after the whistle had gone for another.
But Rovers had few anxious moments, and it was a sweet night for Bellamy after the misery of the 3-0 defeat against former club Newcastle on Sunday.
Blackburn manager Mark Hughes:
"He's only had three competitive games for us," said Hughes after Bellamy scored twice against Huddersfield in the 3-1 Carling Cup second round win.
"It's a case of him getting to know his team-mates and how to best utilise his strengths for the good of the team
"He's going to be a big, big player for us."
Huddersfield manager Peter Jackson:
"He's got nearly a goal a game and he's still only 22 and he's got a big future," said Jackson, after Abbott's goal in the 3-1 Carling Cup defeat.
"We want to build for the future - it'd take a massive bid for any of my players to leave the Galpharm Stadium.
"A lot of players can take credit from the performance."
