Coventry 1-0 Sheff Wed
Coventry beat 10-man Sheffield Wednesday to move into the third round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.

Prospective boss Paul Sturrock watched from the stands as Wednesday lost to a fluke Michael Doyle goal.

Doyle's 36th minute free-kick was meant as a cross but eluded everyone, including keeper David Lucas, and bounced into the net.

Three minutes later Sheffield's Glenn Whelan was sent off for a bad challenge on City's Matthew Mills.
