Coleraine make it four Premiership wins in a row by beating Newry City 2-0

The Bannsiders secured their fourth straight Carling Premiership win with this victory at the Showgrounds.

Marty Havern wasted an early chance for Newry while Coleraine's David Scullion struck a post just before the break.

Kyle McVey put the hosts ahead with a bullet header after 72 minutes and Darren Boyce's shot hit a post before finding the net six minutes later.

City striker Gerard Rowe crashed an injury-time penalty off the bar after Aaron Canning fouled Darren Murray.

Havern fired wide when well placed after 10 minutes and seconds later Coleraine forward Paul Brown headed just wide.

Scullion came closest to scoring in the first half when he found the woodwork and from the rebound Ross Black cleared Gareth Harkin's effort off the line.

Harking was the provider for the opener with his corner finding the head of defender McVey.

Boyce netted just minutes after coming on as substitute and he finished after latching on to a Scullion pass.

David Platt's side moves above Newry into eighth while City slip to 10th and remain without an away point this season.
