Jonny Gorman retains place in NI squad for friendly

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Jonny Gorman has retained his place in the Northern Ireland squad for the friendly match against Montenegro.

Nigel Worthington's 22-man panel also includes uncapped players, Manchester United midfielder Oliver Norwood and Sunderland goalkeeper Trevor Carson.

Sunderland defender George McCartney has been ruled out through injury.

The match will be Northern Ireland's final game ahead of the start of their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

A number of experienced players who missed the recent summer tour matches against Chile and Turkey return to the panel.

Teenager Gorman is part of the Northern Ireland Elite U19 squad which has reached the final of the Milk Cup tournament.

Meanwhile Northern Ireland U21 and U19 manager Steve Beaglehole has agreed a three-year extension to his contract, which will take him up to the 2013 European Championships.
