Striker Michael Halliday has signed for Crusaders after being released by Glentoran at the end of the season.

Halliday has agreed a three-year deal with the Seaview club and the move will be seen a quite a coup for Crues manager Stephen Baxter.

The 31-year-old Halliday had spent his entire senior career with the Glens, scoring inportant trophy-winning goals.

Last year he netted a crucial equaliser against Linfield to effectively seal the Premiership title for the Glens.

Halliday was one of Glentoran's established stars not offered fresh terms by new manager Scott Young at the end of the season.

Another, full-back Kyle Neill, has signed for Glenavon.

Halliday said he would like to show people that "there is still life in the old dog yet" by scoring goals for Crusaders.

"When you reach 30 people maybe think you are past your best but I have plenty to offer and hopefully Stephen (Baxter) can bring that out of me," he added.
