Coleraine booked their place in the final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup by beating Dungannon Swifts 2-0.

Stephen Carson and Rory Patterson had chances before the in-form Patterson directed the ball past Alvin Rouse for the opener in the 24th minute.

Marc McCann hit the post for the Swifts on 29 minutes but Carson took advantage of a defensive mix-up to slot home the second goal 15 minutes after half-time.

The Bannsiders will play Glentoran in the final on Saturday 27 March.

Carson was through on goal in the seventh minute but shot wide of the target.

Rouse saved from Patterson after 20 minutes, but four minutes later the Glentoran-bound striker met Gareth Harkin's cross from the left and stabbed the ball home with his left leg from four yards out.

McCann struck the woodwork with a low right-foot drive from 16 yards out in the 29th minute.

On the hour mark, Rouse and Fergal McAliskey failed to clear and Carson had the simple task of passing the ball into the empty net.
