Cliftonville continued their recent run of good form by beating Newry in Sunday's Premiership game at Solitude.

Ronan Scannell scored with an overhead kick in the ninth minute but Chris Morgan volleyed home the equaliser after a free-kick after 20 minutes.

George McMullan netted a penalty after Emmett Friars had fouled Chris Scannell in the 29th minute and defender Friars was sent-off for the offence.

Kieran O'Connor scored on 62 and Stephen Garrett with a penalty on 83.

O'Connor's initial shot was saved by Neil Gallagher but the midfielder fired in from the rebound.
