Kenny praise for Derry character

Derry manager Stephen Kenny
Stephen Kenny's side has won their last two league matches

Derry City manager Stephen Kenny says his players have "clearly answered any question marks about their character" by winning their last two league games.

"The club has been through so much in the last few months - it has probably been the most difficult period in all our careers," said the Derry boss.

"Yet in the last two matches we have scored five and conceded none and that's difficult at the moment.

"The players have a great passion for the club and they have kept going."

"The club's estimated budget for next season is probably the lowest in the league and obviously there will be a change of direction but it is one we must embrace.

"We are going into our last game knowing that we still have a chance of European qualification and that is credit to the squad.

"It is very important that we are in the Premier Division and meet our financial demands to maintain our Premier Division licence," added Kenny.

"We were probably quite fortunate in the first half against Bray as they threw everything at us but we recovered to get a good win."
