Glenavon 3-2 Coleraine

Glenavon survive a second half comeback by Coleraine to secure three points with a 3-2 win at Mourneview Park.

Glenavon survived a Coleraine comeback to move into third in the Premiership.

Conor Walsh scored the opener in the 12th minute and then Trevor Molloy sidefooted the ball home on 36 minutes after Ryan Harper had squared the ball.

Walsh powered in a header from a Molloy corner a minute before the break and then substitute Eunan O'Kane poked the ball home on his debut on 59 minutes.

Jay Magee cleared a Jody Tolan effort off the line and then Tolan scored from a Tommons pass with 15 minutes left.

Walsh broke the deadlock after Stuart King's inswinging corner was palmed away by O'Hare and then Molloy's shot hit the bar and rebounded into the path of Walsh who scored from the rebound.

Rory Patterson shot straight at Tuda Murphy, before Harper showed some good skill to find Molloy, who slotted home.

Walsh, who was restored to the starting line-up because of an injury to Willo McDonagh, then grabbed his second to put the Lurgan Blues well in control.

Michael Hegarty fired a shot over the bar and then Tommons unleashed a shot into the hands of Murphy as the Bannsiders tried to get back into the game.

Substitutes O'Kane and Tommons were on target in the second half but David Platt's side could not find an equaliser despite a significant improvement in their performance.
