Derry are now 10 points adrift of League of Ireland Premier Division leaders Bomehians after this defeat at Dalymount Park on Sunday night.

The Dubliners dominated throughout and Jason Byrne volleyed home the only goal from eight yards after 19 minutes.

Brian Murphy saved from City midfielder Kevin Derry before Derry keeper Gerard Murphy tipped a throw-in onto the bar and Ger O'Brien cleared off the line.

Derry rarely threatened as they slipped to third straight league defeat.
